Born and raised in Greenville, SC, DJ TanTrum has been DJing since the age of 19, he started out as the “CD Man” of his high school and College of Charleston (CofC)’s go-to for hot music to burn. A sports injury  in college came as a sign it was time to focus on what he loved most: DJing. Here, he met DJ Unstable, out of Atlanta, who became a mentor and guide, jump-starting TanTrum’s career.

Unstable’s influence aside, TanTrum’s skills have been shaped by heavy-hitters of the game: DJ Jazzy Jeff, Funk Master Flex, Kid Capri and Grandmaster Flash to name a few. The result is a versatile sampling of Hip Hop, R&B, Old School, Reggae, House, and EDM.

A dedicated father as well, TanTrum has spent his career spinning the biggest college parties and some of the hottest venues across South Carolina and the country. He has toured with T-Pain and Yo Gotti and had opportunities to work with Young Dro, Travis Porter, Pastor Troy, Verse Simmons, Jay Lyriq and Tay Dizm.

With the 2013 return of Charleston’s own 99.3 The Box, TanTrum cemented his title as one of the hottest on-air DJs and a well-earned endorsement as official Ciroc DJ. With a 2016 Geechee One Award for Radio Personality Of The Year under his belt, more great things are on the way for DJ TanTrum.
